Wow...what.a.week!!! It's been fun, it's been crazy, it's been energetic, it's been filled, and it's been exhausting! If I learned anything from this first week of school it's that this year is going to be AMAZING! The kiddos did so well transitioning from 3rd graders to 4th graders, and I can already tell their maturity level has increased...and they are ready to learn.
We got to spend some of our morning with the 1st graders reading a book called "First Day Jitters" and then of course we made "jitter juice" to share with our new friends! That was a blast!! We then tied up some loose ends from the rest of the week...unfortunately our technology website wasn't working so we weren't able to get EVERYTHING done, but we got most of it completed! All students have taken their STAR reading test, which shows us their reading levels and the zone they should be checking AR books out at! Those letters are coming home tonight! We also did a fun M&M writing activity...and of course got to eat the M&M's when the activity was finished! We reviewed lines, segments, and rays in math, and we even quizzed Mr. Adams when he walked into our classroom (he passed)! We played math charades, sang a math song, and they did excellent working with their math partners!
To end the day, we had a going away party for Yolanda since today is her last day! We will miss her as she heads on to her new school in Wichita. We wish her the best of luck!!
Next week we will begin diving into our reading and math curriculum more and will be doing some super fun activities to go along with each subject!! Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns! You can send me an email, a message on here, or through REMIND! I will try my very best to keep you updated on things going on in our classroom!!
Have a FANTASTIC weekend!!
