all about Mrs. Elder...
My name is Mrs. Elder, and I teach 4th grade at Eisenhower Elementary. I have many things that I enjoy including my family, outdoor activities, sports, church, teaching, and many more. I have a wonderful husband that I have been married to for 13 years as well as four wonderful children. I have three boys, Milo (10), Fisher (9), and Branson (6), and one daughter Baylor (4).
I attended the University of Kansas for one year and Kansas State University for 3 years where I received my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. Upon the completion of my Bachelors degree, I resided in Manhattan, Kansas and taught 2nd grade in Junction City, Kansas. After my 1st year of teaching my husband and I relocated to Wellington where I began teaching 3rd grade at Eisenhower. I am starting my 14th year of teaching, and this is my fifth year as a 4th grade teacher. I have also obtained my Masters in School Leadership and Administration from Baker University.
Educating children is near and dear to my heart. I have wanted to be a teacher since Kindergarten. I am an energetic person, and I like to carry that into my classroom. I have a classroom that is a mixture of activities, group work, as well as individual work. My goal in the classroom is to provide students the opportunity to gain knowledge through exploration. This allows them to engage in their own learning using me as a resource for guidance. I encourage students to ask questions and learn from their mistakes. Correcting mistakes is an opportunity for learning.
I look forward to a great year in 4th grade!!!!
Thanks for taking time to look at the class webpage, and have a wonderful school year!
