Hello everyone!! Sorry for the delay...I'm finally getting caught up on blogs and uploading pictures, so sorry for the overload!! I can't believe we are already to the last week of February! This has been the fastest year EVER!! It's been fantastic and fun and full of learning. These pictures kind of recap the month of February...things like our Super Bowl AR party, science day, Valentine's party, and book report projects (which turned out super cute! They taught the class all about the Mayas, Incas, and the City of Pompeii. It was fantastic.
We have started Unit 8 in math, which is all about Area and Perimeter. Make sure to check out the math tab with fun videos and games regarding those two topics. We also are in the middle of the story "My Brother Martin," a biography written by MLK Jr.'s sister...make sure to check out the story of the week tab. In science, we have started studying the body and some ways that it works including bones and muscles, eye movement, and vision!
We have concluded our first round of Performance State Assessments, which included a writing and math portion in which the students had to create an essay and answer some problem solving questions! They did an excellent job staying on task and trying their very best. We will take the Reading and Math portions in the beginning of April.
March is going to be a CRAZY busy month. I will attend a teaching conference next week, then we have Spring Break and Easter Breaks included in the month, along with some super fun activities!!
This Friday, we will be having our February AR party and celebrating Pi day all together. That means PIZZA and COOKIES...woohoo!!!
We are having a blast and are going to continue having a blast in 4th grade! The time is flying, but we are cramming our brains along the way! I can't believe my kiddos are almost 5th graders!! :(
Enjoy the beautiful weather,
Mrs. Elder
