Hey I'm back!! Sorry for the little break in blogs lately! I was gone to the state volleyball tournament on Friday the other days got a little crazy! So...to make up for that, I have posted numerous pics of the last few days just to show that we are still learning, having fun, and being wild in 4th grade!! :)
Last week we had Red Ribbon Week where we learned the importance of being drug free! The SADD group from the high school even came and talked to the kiddos. We also heard from Detective Dan and all the "ins and outs" of being a detective! That was SUPER interesting to hear, and it went right along with our story of the week "Encyclopedia Brown!" I also got the chance to take 5 great kiddos to Big Cheese for being selected as Celebrities of the Week!! It was a fantastic fun-filled week!
The kids learned a script and presented it to the class regarding a mystery case! They did an awesome job putting props together and producing their skit! This week we will conclude our story "Encyclopedia Brown," take our spelling test, selection test, and keep moving through Unit 4 (decimals) in math! Last week we had many students pass the next multiplication fact so keep practicing those at home!!
Tomorrow we will be doing a "mystery bag" experiment so make sure to bring an item and fill out the question form so you are ready for the mystery experiment! Also, Wednesday we will be taking a walking fieldtrip downtown to do some clue finding and detective work! We will eat lunch downtown (school lunch provided unless you want to send a separate sack lunch)! It's going to be an AWESOME day!!
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns! We are having a blast in 4th grade and learning a ton!! We even got a new seating arrangment today!! YAY!!! :)
Happy Monday,
Mrs. Elder
