We spent the week getting to know each other, tackling some STEAM activities, learning the rules and procedures, starting our first math lesson, and finishing up the week with the FOURTH DAY OF FOURTH GRADE!! Let me tell you...this was a great day! We had four square going, a kickball tournament (4 bases in kickball, right?), drawing 4-leaf clover on our rock (that we later hid for some lucky person to find), and made a DELICIOUS snack which met all FOUR food groups...pizza of course!!! :). It was a blast!!!
This coming week we will really start to dive into our new math curriculum called Engage New York. I'm excited to start this new series, and I think the kids will really love it too! We will also be really diving into our story of the week, Because of Winn-Dixie! Since we are doing the "short version" during our reading series, we decided it would be cool to read the story in its entirety during our story time!! It's a great story! We are setting into our schedule, we are earning classroom money and balancing our checkbooks, we are completing STEAM activities, and we are having fun! I can't wait to see what week 2 brings in 4th grade!
If you have any questions or concerns PLEASE email me at [email protected] or send me a text at REMIND!!! I will try to get back with you in a very timely manner! As for homework, we will only be practicing multiplication facts, studying spelling words, and reading AR!!! So make sure to spend a few minutes each night doing those things!!!
Again...it's going to be a GREAT year, and I'm excited to continue this journey with these fantastic kids!!!!
