It was a great start to our first full week back to school! I told the kiddos that now that we are in the second half of 4th grade, we are going to start speeding some things up, and the workload will increase a little bit. That way they can really focus on time managment and effeciency on getting things done, turned in, and concentrate on staying on task. They did a great job today, and they were able to stick with the pace and get things turned in even though we were moving a little quicker. We played sidewalk scoot (make sure to ask them about this), did a couple answer gardens, continued with our science experiment, and made states/capitals flashcards for our test Wednesday!!
In math we talked about estimating the amount of food we consume in a year (in pounds). That was super interesting!! They eat over 2,000 pounds a year...WOW!!! We are getting really good at extended multiplication (also know as partial products)! We were able to move through math centers today, and they did a great job!
Tonight they are supposed to study their states/capitals flashcards, do homelink 5.4, and read AR!! Our AR deadline will be Jan 27!
Have a great evening,
Mrs. Elder
