Yay!! Day ONE of MAPS testing is FINISHED!! The kiddos did a great job taking their time and doing their best during the reading MAPS test. Even though there were a few computer glitches, and some of the reading passages were a little long, they stuck with it and finished like champs!! Tomorrow we will finish up MAPS testing in the morning with MATH!!!! Eat a good breakfast so we can finish strong tomorrow!
This afternoon we had an AWESOME Unit 1 math review!! We were able to break into 2 groups. One group played a review game called Kahoot!!! They had a blast!!! The other group did a review using candy corn, toothpicks, and marshmallows!!! It was a great review and they got to enjoy the sweet treat when they were finished!!! We will do one more day of review and a study guide tomorrow, and the Unit 1 math test will be Thursday!
We ended the day with a science experiment! Since we've been talking about energy, the kids got to build roller coasters out of foam. They made a "bumper coaster" to test the energy of one marble against the next! They had to avoid the alligator swamp! Let's just say a lot of roller coaster riders got eaten by alligators!!! AAGGHH!!! :)
Tonight the kids need to read for at least 10 minutes, and they have a front back spelling page to complete! This will be good practice for them to prepare for their spelling test next week!!!
Have a great Tuesday evening,
Mrs. Elder
