What day is it?!?! The first day of FALL!! YAY!! My favorite season of the year!! So...what better way to celebrate than to make HOMEMADE applesauce and play Kahoot Fall Trivia!!! It was a blast!! We started the day researching a few "fall" facts and learned more about the Autumn season!! I love it...cooler weather, pretty leaves, football, pumpkin..it's all great!!! The kiddos really enjoyed their applesauce...I'll write down the recipe just in case you want to make it at home!! It's SUPER easy!!
So...besides fall activities...we also took our selection test and had a fantastic discussion about Japan (pre and post World War II)! We also researched facts about Japan and made some great graphic organizers!! Reading went great and we got a ton done! For math, we did a review and talked about two different addition methods, partial-sums and traditional column adding!! Hopefully, they will be able to carry what they talked about today into their homework tonight!!!
Tomorrow we will be getting close to concluding our story "Grandfather's Journey" as well as approaching the end of Unit 2 in math!! We are making great gains and learning a lot in 4th grade!! In fact, we are already halfway through the first quarter, which means progress reports will be coming home on Friday!! Wow...it's going really fast!!
Tonight's homework:
HL 2.7
Read 15 min
Bonus Question: What war separated the "old" Japan from the "modern" Japan??
Happy 1st day of fall,
Mrs. Elder
