We were on a mission to get things done today, and that we did! To start our day we finished up any kiddos that hadn't finished the MAPS testing...so we are pretty much completely done with that for the fall...YAY!!! Then we had a great discussion about landforms, and we compared Japanese landforms to those we find in America. That way we had a better understanding of our story Grandfather's Journey and his life in Japan! Now we are working on posters of various landforms! We also have a "sequencing" task going on. Each reading group is in charge of "teaching" the class on Friday! They must pick an activity that they can teach the rest of the class by sequencing the steps. They have to be VERY careful not to forget a step. I know some of the groups are wanting to use props and other resources from home such as food and pets...so if you get asked about borrowing something then that is what they are talking about! If you do not want them to bring things to school or have any questions regarding this, please let me know and I will give you more information! :) We are also talking about timelines, and we even started creating a timeline of our own individual lives and important things that have happened throughout our lives! The best part of reading today was playing KAHOOT...they did AWESOME on the homophone quizzes!!!
For math we moved on to name collection boxes and learned all about operations (x, +, -, /). They even wrote a lot of problems using MULTIPLE operations!!! They did great!! To end our day, we had an all school assembly to talk abou the chocolate bar fundraiser. If a student would like a box of chocolate to sell, they MUST bring back the signed parent note, and they will then receive their box of chocolate. They WILL NOT be able to return unoperned candy bars...you must sell or pay for the entire box!!! However, there are some really cool prizes to earn...plus our school make MONEY off of the chocolate you sell....woohoo!!!
TOMORROW IS PICTURE DAY!! CHEESE :)
