So to wrap up yesterday and today in one phrase it would be...Busy yet productive!! I didn't have time to blog yesterday so I apologize for that, but I will catch us up to date today!! Yesterday we got a lot done! We worked on tying up some loose ends. We got all of the Living Museum biographies written so now it is on to just memorizing them! Again, if you have any clothing items or props that would go well with your child's character please send that to school! We also talked about our them of the week and watched a motivational short video about kindness and making an impact! These kiddos are doing a great job of recognizing what it means to be kind and caring!
Since it was our 100th day of school we had a fantastic afternoon! Not to mention the hilarious and adorable 100 year olds that showed up in class (thanks to those they dressed up...you looked fantastic). For math we had some really fun multiplication activities that dealt with factors, the commutative property, and skip counting! We started with a hershey kiss scavenger hunt. They had to find hershey kisses and find all the factors that went with that number. We also partnered up according to commutative property and did some partner tasks with our candy/snack buffet! The goal was to fill their snack size ziplock baggie with as close to 100 items as possible! Of course when we were all finished they got to eat their delicious snack! It was an incredible afternoon and beautiful day! We are closing in on Unit 6 and our math test will be early next week! We will also dive much deeper into our story about Machu Picchu! It's going to be a great continuation next week!
Tomorrow Mrs. Smith will be subbing for me because I have meeting at IKE!! I will be in the building just not in the classroom!! I HATE MISSING!! :( However, I know the kids will do great! I have left some great things for her to accomplish tomorrow including practicing for the Living Museum!
Friday will be the Living Museum from 1:30-3:00! You are more than welcome to attend! Please send any clothing or props with your child that could make them look more authentic! We are also in the middle of our Pennies for Patients fundraiser...so any loose change you have make sure to put it in your box! Bonus question...what place are we currently in for Pennies for Patients??
Reminder-Progress reports will go home on Friday!
