It's time for us all to put on our game faces...the next 3 weeks are going to be a crazy ride!!! Crazy, yes...fun, yes...jam packed, yes...educational, yes...AWESOME, yes!!! So, without further ado let me just say Happy Late Thanksgiving!!! I hope you all enjoyed your time off and had some delicious food and great family time!!! The kids were dragging little this morning, but they found their energy and routine by this afternoon!
So the next three weeks look like this! We are not doing a story of the week until after Christmas break. Instead, the students will be working on a Christmas Around the World Research Project! In small groups, they will research a country around the world and how they celebrate the Christmas holiday! They will then present to the 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders on Dec. 19 in a "fair" type of setting! They will have a booth set up for all to come by and visit! This will take a big chunk of our reading time up. We have also started Unit 5 in math which is all about multiplication! We will not completely finish Unit 5 before break, but we will get as far as possible! We will also be studying states and capitals and continuing science as well! In fact, we have a Science Guy coming ALL next week to do a science lesson EACH day with the kiddos! It's going to be awesome!
Also coming up...We have our WSU basketball field trip on Friday, Dec. 2! We will be taking our Winter MAPS test on Dec. 6th and 8th, and our Christmas Program will be Dec. 8! We will not have a spelling test until after break!
Needless to say, we have a lot to do in three weeks, and it's going to be a great few weeks! Then...it's off to Christmas Break. This school year is FLYING way TOO FAST!!!!! If you have any questions, please make sure to write me a note or send me an email!!
Have a great evening,
Mrs. Elder
