Okay...so today was favorite Kansas Team Day, and Jayhawks won hands down....not only in our classroom, but throughout the entire school!! :) Just thought I would let you know!! Tomorrow is cowboy/indian day so lets see those hats and boots!!
Today we continued on with our Machu Picchu research projects! There are some FANTASTIC powerpoint presentations coming together!! We also started working on some cursive handwriting, and let me tell you...some of their cursive looks gorgeous!! This afternoon we continued talking about fractions, and used counters to make groups and figured out the easiest way to convert fractions! We ended the day with the beginning of our science experiment...using energy to make a car go! We will be building cars and using rubberbands as our source of energy, so that will be super fun! We have also added Virginia and West Virginia to our states and capitals book! We are plugging right through the US!!
Tomorrow, I will be at a meeting at the High School so Mrs. Clift will be in the room teaching during the day! She will have lessons to continue teaching to go right along with what we have been learning!! I hope I get a fantastic report on Thursday from Mrs. Clift!
We are still in need of some empty plastic pop or water bottles to use for an experiment on Friday! If you have some laying around, please send them to school...that would be AWESOME!!!
3 more days to qualify for AR...read, read, read!!
Have a great evening,
Mrs Elder
