Today starts Red Ribbon Week! That means Spirit Week...yay!! It also means we got to talk being drug free and what it means to be a good decision maker!! We were able to use the terrible OSU event to discuss how that one bad decision can never be undone! This is such an important concept that I want all kids to learn and be aware of!!
We also got to do PE, library skills, and Exploration Place this morning. We took our pre-spelling test since we are starting a new story this week, that I am SUPER excited about!! This week and next week we will be reading "Encyclopedia Brown and the Case of the Missing Salamander!" I am so excited for this story because it's a mystery, which means we get to do lot of really cool activities that involve problem solving, clue finding, and solving mysteries!! It's going to a great story and week of activities!!
Friday we will be having our Halloween parade and parties! The parade will be at 8:30 in the all-purpose room, and the Halloween party will be from 1:00-2:00. If you would like to send treats feel free, and if you would like to help with the party feel free to do that as well!! I will only be in class for a short while in the morning because I'm heading up to Salina to watch the WHS crusader volleyball team compete at state!! YAY for them.!!!
This week we are starting Unit 4 in math, beginning a new story, and moving on to learning 2 new states in Social Studies (Massachusetts and Vermont)!! We will also be starting a reptile study since our reading story talks about amphibians and reptiles!!
It's going to be a great week with lots of really cool activities!!
