Wow....what a fun day!! This morning we got a lot done...including our STAR test (for most students) and our poster ready for our surprise guest Miss Kansas. The kiddos had no idea she was coming and this morning we did a writing activity and brainstormed some ideas about what we would ask Miss Kansas if we EVER got to meet her!! Little did they know that they would be meeting her later in the day!! It was awesome!!! They had some great questions and they even learned how to walk like a pageant queen!! I think most of them really enjoyed getting to take their picture with her!!! Thank you to Sabrina Nelson and her parents for making it possible to meet Miss Kansas!! We wish her the best of luck at the Miss America Pageant in September!!
We also got to start our first math lesson today!! We did a scavenger hunt through the student reference book, which will be a great help later in the year!! Tomorrow is ALREADY Friday...our first week of school is almost OVER!! WOW!! I have some great activities planned for tomorrow before we really start getting into our reading and math lessons next week! The kids are doing AWESOME and it's going to be such a fantastic year!
Tonight they are bringing home a math newsletter that explains unit 1 and everything we will be covering throughout the unit! I'm so proud of the kids who have already finished their AR book and taken some AR tests...they are READY to get those points and make it to the AR party!!
Bonus Question: How old is Miss Kansas?
