Let's just say yesterday and today were POLAR OPPOSITE!! Yesterday the kids came in and needed a TON of reminders as to appropriate behavior and decisions they were making! There were a few kids that made better decisions as the day went on, but there were still a handful that needed WAY too many reminders! We had a major discussion about them almost being 5th graders, and that I was going to have to give fewer and fewer warnings and verbal reminders in order to prepare them for 5th grade! There are definitely some kiddos that try to push the buttons as much as possible! Now, with that said...today was sooooooooo much better with regards to behavior and decision making! They did so good today, and I don't think I had to really get on to any of them for misbehaving!! I lOVE these days!! :) Way to go!
As for what's been going on...whew...a lot has been happening! But, before I begin here is my hidden bonus question...out of all of our character traits, which one do you think I like the most? We started our new class theme this week, which is BELIEVE!! We have watched a few videos and talked a lot about believing in yourself. We also have started two different biographies! One we will use in a "timeline" format and the other one will be used in a "living museum." I can't wait to see how they turn out. They have already started the research for their biographies and are well on their way! We are also well into Unit 6 in math...talking about division, rotation and angles. We will be practicing with protractors and measuring tons of angles as well as creating some cool angle artwork! For science, we are continuing our discussion about chemistry! We started talking about acids and the different types of acids that exist and why they exist! It turned into a pretty interesting discussion about poop!! LOL! It pretty much stemmed from the acids in our body and what they are used for!! It was actually a very informative discussion!!
So...with our busy schedule, we are still getting a TON done. We even had an awesome fan tunnel and character trait assembly this afternoon over FAIRNESS!! Tomorrow we will have a short assembly to talk about Pennies for Patients! It's going to be a great rest of the week!
