Hello everyone! Well...since we have wrapped up our Presidential Campaigns and now we are on to Thanksgiving projects. We are starting a Native American Unit this week, and we will finish it up next week before THANKSGIVING BREAK!! Students are in a small group, and they have chosen a particular Native American Tribe that they will become experts on. Once they are experts they will present information to the class along with a Native American project. It should be lots of fun!! Along with that, we made pioneer journals today to document our trip to the New Land. Some kiddos are writing from the perspective of the pilgrims and some from the perspective of the Native Americans. They are turning out super cool!
For math, we are almost to the end of Unit 4. We have one lesson left, a review and study guide, and then our test on Friday!!! We will do some fun Thanksgiving math next week to end our week before break!! I can't believe it's almost time for Thanksgiving break.
We also finished our Universe in a Box. We learned about the constellations and how they change with the seasons. That was really interesting and it went right along with the cool supermoon!!
We have had a few issues with students not being respectful to one another or doing inappropriate things during class time. We have talked about these issues, and I hope they will not continue to happen!!!
Tomorrow we will continue our Native American projects, learn a few more states and capitals, and wrap up Unit 4 in math!!
Let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
Have a good evening,
Mrs. Elder
