Happy HUMP day!!! What another great day it was!!! We actually got to reading centers today..yay!! The kiddos did awesome rotating through our centers!! They did a technology scavenger hunt, played some "favorites" dice games, did a fluency read, and got started on their 4th grade pre-assessment!! This is a test they take at the beginning of the year and at the end of the year so we can see how much they grow and learn throughout 4th grade!! I can't wait to see the progress they make throughout the year..,I know it's going to be a TON!! They have already shown great growth in maturity and transitioning just from 3rd grade to 4th grade!! I love it!!!
We got a chance to hold Wreckit and Ralph today, our pet bearded dragons!! They loved that! We also made some pipeflutes and watched a REALLY cool video on vibrations and sounds since that is what we were talking about in math today!! I will post the link to the video because they were all asking to watch it again!! :) For science, we built OREO towers and recorded our data and discussed all of our results!! That was super fun, and they did a great job. They realized how much teamwork really matters!!!
Tomorrow is going to be AWESOME...we have a special guest coming to visit us...but I can't say who because it's a SURPRISE!!!! :) We only have 2 days left of this week...I can't believe it! We still have so much to get done, but we have already gotten a TON done!!
Our classroom officially has a city name...New Rocker City is our new 4th grade! We have a mayor, treasurer, librarian, police officers, mailman and vets. It's an actual community...how cool is that!! All community employees will be hard at work starting TOMORROW!!!
It's going to be a great rest of the week! It absolutely makes my day when my kids say things like "best day ever," "I love this class," and "will you teach 5th grade!" It warms my heart! I love my kids and I love 4th grade!!
BONUS QUESTION- What unit of measure do we use to measure SOUND?? Hint: we talked about it in math today!!!
Have a great evening,
Mrs. E
